I'm so happy someone else didn't like My Year of Rest and Relaxation. I hate read this one, wanting it to get better.

Here from the low key soft launchy live stream yesterday. The "Giver" is a classic. On the topic of sense awareness, "The Old Man and The Sea" by Ernest Hemingway is another mandated school reading assignment that I just couldn't appreciate at the time. Revisiting it again, it is the most meditative book I have ever read. It's short and stunning. Takes you as deep or as pointless as you want to go (readers choice) and perfect for quieting the chatter of the mind. Margot, your content is also a source of soothing/calm to me. I am so excited about your presence on this new platform!

welcome to the underbelly.....

Added "The Old Man and the Sea" to the list! It sounds like a really great bedtime read considering I need something that won't give me nightmares / from a lenght-perspective can feel good about reading 4 pages at a time before nodding off

I SO agree about The Guest!! I heard so many rave reviews abt it and hated it! I read it on a plane (omw out to the east end of Long Island, thinking it would be the perfect choice) and felt so icky with the main character and her choices!

I have also revisited many of the classics that we were "forced" to read throughout middle and high school ... and enjoyed them so much more now! Especially The Giver ... my mean 6th grade English teacher ruined it and many others for me. Thanks for sharing that article along with it too.

Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell is one of my favorite books; Marriage Portrait was a solid read too ❤️
